Password, sign-in codes and two-factor authentication (2FA)
Sign-in codes by email, setting up an authenticator app, trusted devices and recovery codes.
Where: click your name at the bottom of the menu. This opens the Security page.
Change your password
Enter your Current password and the New password twice, then click Update password. Passwords must be changed every 30 days. GodoERP reminds you before yours expires.
Sign-in codes by email
If your role requires two-factor authentication and you have not set up an authenticator app yet, GodoERP emails you a 6-digit code when you sign in.
- Enter your email and password.
- On Check your email, type the code from the email. It works for a few minutes.
- Didn't get it? Check spam, or ask for a new code on the same screen.
- Tick Trust this device on a computer only you use, and GodoERP won't ask for an email code on it for a while.
Signing in with Google skips the email code.
Set up an authenticator app (recommended)
An authenticator app is safer than email codes and works without internet on your phone.
- On the Security page, click Set up two-factor authentication.
- Install Google Authenticator (or any authenticator app) on your phone.
- Scan the QR code. If you can't scan it, type the key shown under it.
- Enter the 6-digit code from the app, then click Confirm.
- Save your recovery codes somewhere safe. Each code works once if you lose your phone, and they are shown only once.
From then on, you sign in with a code from the app instead of an email code. Some sensitive changes, such as the online payment keys, also ask for an app code.
Lost your phone?
- On the sign-in code screen, type one of your recovery codes instead of the 6-digit code.
- No recovery codes? Ask your company administrator to reset your two-factor setting in User Management.
Important: If app codes are always rejected, check that your phone's date and time are set automatically. Codes depend on the exact time.
